Focus:  Queere Menschen auf der FluchtQueer refugees

Überall auf der Welt werden queere Menschen aufgrund ihrer sexuellen Orientierung und ihrer Geschlechtsidentität geächtet, bedroht, verfolgt und erleben schwerste Formen von Gewalt und Men- schenrechtsverletzungen bis hin zur Todesstrafe.

Gemäss ILGA, dem Internationalen Dachverband der LGBT+-Organisationen, bestehen in über 70 Ländern Gesetze, die queere Menschen kriminalisieren. Die internationale Nichtregierungsorganisation ORAM schätzt, dass 4-6 % der weltweiten Asylgesuche von Menschen gestellt wer- den, die wegen ihrer sexuellen Orientierung verfolgt werden. Im Asylland sehen sie sich mit langen und belastenden Asylverfahren konfrontiert.

Mit einer Podiumsdiskussion in Frauenfeld wollen wir dieses aktuelle gesellschaftspolitische Thema aufgreifen. Begleitet wird der Fokus von einem kleinen Filmprogramm

All over the world, queer people are ostracized, threatened and persecuted because of their sexual orientation and gender identity and experience the most severe forms of violence and human rights violations, including the death penalty.

According to ILGA, the international umbrella organization of LGBT+ organizations, more than 70 countries have laws that criminalize queer people. The international non-governmental organization ORAM estimates that 4-6% of asylum applications worldwide are made by people who are persecuted because of their sexual orientation. In the country of asylum, they are confronted with long and stressful asylum procedures.

We want to address this current socio-political issue with a panel discussion in Frauenfeld. The focus will be accompanied by a short film program.
