Das Pink Apple Filmfestival setzt auch in diesem Jahr besondere thematische Schwerpunkte. Vom 29. April bis 8. Mai 2025 in Zürich und vom 9. bis 11. Mai 2025 in Frauenfeld lädt das Festival zu einem vielseitigen Film- und Diskussionsprogramm ein, das queere Lebensrealitäten sichtbar macht, bestehende Stigmata hinterfragt und Raum für Austausch schafft.

Die diesjährigen Fokusthemen beleuchten gesellschaftlich relevante Perspektiven: Sexarbeit, Nonbinarität, queere Menschen auf der Flucht, den Eurovision Song Contest, Fankultur im Frauenfussball sowie die Rolle von queeren Community. In Zürich finden Podiumsdiskussionen und Filmvorführungen zu allen Themen statt – mit Ausnahme des Fokus «Queere Menschen auf der Flucht», der exklusiv in Frauenfeld präsentiert wird.

Sexarbeit – zwischen Stigma und Faszination

Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt des Festivals gilt dieses Jahr der queeren Perspektive auf Sexarbeit. Noch immer ist Sexarbeit in weiten Teilen der Gesellschaft tabuisiert. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Sexworkers Collective, dem Schwulen Museum Berlin und dem feministischen Streikhaus Zürich wirft das Pink Apple Filmfestival ein Licht auf die unsichtbaren Realitäten von Sexarbeit, ihre Verbindung zur queeren Community und die Herausforderungen sowie Gemeinsamkeiten in den Kämpfen beider.

Die Ausstellung dokumentiert die Geschichte der Sexarbeit in Deutschland und der Schweiz und erzählt von jenen, die Sexarbeit ausüben. Die Ausstellung wurde vom Sexworkers Collective und einem Kollektiv Berliner Sexarbeiter:innen kuratiert und legt erstmals einen speziellen Fokus auf die Schweiz.

Nonbinäre Identitäten sind kein neues Phänomen – und doch werden sie oft marginalisiert oder missverstanden. In der Schweiz werden offiziell nur die Geschlechter Mann und Frau anerkannt – doch viele Menschen leben jenseits dieser binären Kategorien. Das Pink Apple Filmfestival lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit auf die Vielfalt nonbinärer Identitäten und die gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen, mit denen nonbinäre Personen konfrontiert sind.

Die queere Community hat viel erreicht – und steht heute weltweit wieder unter Druck. Unter dem Motto «Solidarität statt Gärtchendenken» lädt das Pink Apple Filmfestival dazu ein, gemeinsam über die Zukunft der LGBT+-Bewegung nachzudenken.

Pink Apple tritt mit seinem neuen Standort in eine neue Phase seines Bestehens ein: Was wird anders? Was bleibt gleich? Wo liegt sein Platz neben all den Streaming-Plattformen? In einem Gespräch über queere Filmfestivals soll über Gegenwart und Zukunft, aber auch über Vorläufer und Ursprünge gesprochen werden.

Eurovision – so queer!

Der Eurovision Song Contest begeistert die queere Community seit Jahrzehnten. 2025 findet das ESC-Finale erstmals wieder in der Schweiz statt. Das Pink Apple Filmfestival widmet der queeren Faszination für den ESC einen eigenen Fokus.

Mit früheren Teilnehmenden, Hardcore-Fans und Expert:innen sprechen wir über die Bedeutung des ESC für die queere Community. Im Anschluss an die Diskussion findet ein Mini-Konzert mit Gunvor und der Dragqueen Mona Gamie statt.

Queere Menschen auf der Flucht

Weltweit werden queere Menschen wegen ihrer Identität verfolgt, kriminalisiert und sind auf der Flucht. Das Pink Apple Filmfestival beleuchtet die Situation queerer Geflüchteter in der Schweiz, ihre Erfahrungen im Asylsystem sowie ihre Herausforderungen und Hoffnungen.

Gemeinsam mit queeren Geflüchteten, Fachpersonen und Unterstützenden sprechen wir über Lebensrealitäten, rechtliche Hürden und den langen Weg in die Sicherheit.

The Pink Apple Film Festival is once again setting special thematic focuses this year. From April 29 to May 8, 2025, in Zurich and from May 9 to 11, 2025, in Frauenfeld, the festival invites audiences to a diverse program of films and discussions that highlight queer life realities, challenge existing stigmas, and create space for dialogue.

This year's focus topics explore socially relevant perspectives: sex work, non-binarity, queer people on the run, the Eurovision Song Contest, fan culture in women's football, and the role of queer communities. In Zurich, panel discussions and film screenings will be held on all topics—except for the focus on 'Queer People on the Run,' which will be presented exclusively in Frauenfeld.

Sex Work – Between Stigma and Fascination

A key focus of this year’s festival is the queer perspective on sex work. Sex work remains taboo in many parts of society. In collaboration with the Sex Workers Collective, the Schwules Museum Berlin, and the Feminist Strike House Zurich, the Pink Apple Film Festival sheds light on the often-invisible realities of sex work, its connection to the queer community, and the shared challenges in their struggles.
